Tottori - Tsuyama

The City Hall in Tottori was our starting point today.

National Japanese TV and other media were there to cover the Peace Run

The Vice Mayor received the torch and gave a touching speech. He said the city shared the motto of the Peace Run that peace has to start within each one of us. He ended with a statement we all agreed with -" I wish that your activities will last forever."

羽場副市長は、平和は一人一人から始まるというピースランのモットーは鳥取市も同じであると言われました。私たちの活動が永遠に続きますように、という温かい激励をありがとうございました。

The kids from Kawahara Dai-ichi Primary School were all lined up outside their school to welcome the team as we ran in.

河原第一小学校の生徒達は校門でランナー達を歓迎してくれました

The students had prepared a spectacular gymnastics routine for us. We were impressed by their discipline, co-ordination and athleticism.

組体操を披露してくれました。みんなの規律、チームワーク、運動能力に感心しました

The kids always enjoy guessing our nationalities in the country guessing game.

ランナーの出身国を当てるゲームはいつも楽しいです

My country has 50 states...

「私の国には50州あるよ!」

In my country we eat sushi...

「私の国ではお寿司を食べます!」

Tashkent is the capital of my country...

「首都はタシュケントです」

In my country we dance like this...

Receiving the certificate of appreciation, we are grateful to and inspired by all the students we met today.

At Chizucho Town Hall the Head of education received the torch.

智頭町役場では教育長が町を代表してピーストーチを受け取りました

We were glad that so many staff members joined us for a moment of peace.

職員の方々も平和の黙祷をありがとうございました

Once again our running took us through some gorgeous scenery of mountains covered in every shade of green.

色とりどりの山の緑に再び囲まれながらランニングが続きます

The team are all grateful to Yu-San who did an excellent job repairing some of our torches that needed some maintenance.

トーチのメンテナンスもOK

Our last meeting of the day was at Miwa Primary School. The kids had made nice welcome signs for our arrival.

今日の最後の交流は美和小学校です。歓迎のプラカードをありがとう!

They were excited for our visit and also sang a Japanese song for us.

ランナー達に喜んでくれた子供たち。上手な歌を歌ってくれました。

After a run with the torch we said goodbye to this wonderful school.

みんなでトーチを持って走ってからお別れしました。素敵な時間をありがとうございました

Our Japanese co-ordinators have done a superb job of providing maps and navigation for our running route.

綿密な地図とナビ担当の活躍なしには進めません

These men were out for an afternoon run when they saw us and were happy to help carry the torch for a while.
