Our International Peace Run team, the San Diego Sri Chinmoy Marathon team, and local volunteers gathered at dawn to set up a water station and serve drinks to the runners during the Rock 'n' Roll Running Series San Diego.

Preparing the 'Hold The Torch' Banner for runners to make wishes for peace.

Since 1998, the Rock 'n' Roll Running Series San Diego has been a favorite among locals and tourists. This year over 27,000 people signed up for the 26th annual Rock 'n' Roll Marathon!

Our friend Patricia is happily volunteering with us.

And the Peace Runners too.

Preparing electrolytes at 5:30 am.

Handling four layers is quite risky, but skillful hands have managed.

Snack break before the race starts.

A moment of peace before the wave of runners comes.

We are ready! Peace :)

6:15 am. The Race starts!

Water here!

It might look like rain, but it's the spilled water from the fast runners and from those who needed to refresh themselves!

Well done runners! Keep up the good work!

Our Peace Torch is glowing at the water station.

Our Peace Run Executive Director was there to help out.

Peace Torch, please...

Thousands of joyful runners hold the torch during the race.

Ron led the cup sweeping task with amazing technique, moving like a dancer.

Vasudha, one of our local Peace Run coordinators, enthusiastically organizes the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team station at the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon every year.

Electrolyte station.

We had a great team of volunteers!

Garima always comes to San Diego to help with the aid station and the Peace Run.

We all need more Peace.

How exciting to hold the Peace Run Torch at the Marathon!

Volunteers get a chance to hold the Peace Torch too.

So many happy hearts have touched the Peace Torch today!

Sri Chinmoy, the founder of the Peace Run, ran many marathons. He wrote: "When I run regularly and soulfully each day, I make progress as an individual. And when I make progress, automatically Mother Earth makes progress, because we are part and parcel of the same reality." Thank you to all the runners for running and helping make the world a better place!

Marina and her English teacher, Lynn, make a wish for Peace together.

Sanjana and Medina smile for more Peace in the World-Family.

Thank you to all the workers and volunteers who every year whole-heartedly serve this incredible event. It is also so inspiring to see all the runners of all ages trying their best and transcending their capacities.

Celebrating Hungarian heritage, Rubik's Cube.

Thank you for the volunteers t-shirts!

Happy volunteers!

After the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, our Peace Run team arrived at the wonderful Jyoti Bihanga Restaurant, for a delicious brunch, even though it is closed on a Sunday. Throughout our extended stay in San Diego, Jyoti Bihanga graciously offered full service to our runners every day. We are extremely grateful to all of you and always feel delighted and blessed to be here.

Enjoy!

Our friends, Anya and Igor ran the half marathon this year with the wonderful times respectfully of 2:01 and 2:14 hours.

We are so proud of you! Congratulations!

It's impossible to imagine California without its famous beaches.

Despite our busy schedules, we were able to go to the beach and enjoy a beautiful day.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who organized and participated in all the activities so efficiently. It truly made for a joyful and wonderful day.
