Karijoki - Yyteri

Reported by Dhavala Stott 127.0 km

Our day started at the local running track with a group from Kristinestads Gymnasium and Kristinestads Hogstadieskola.

This torch has tremendous power in it!

The Peace Run team and the students together.

We stayed at the track to meet a group of eager students from Kristiinankaupungin Elementary school, which has both Swedish and Finnish speaking students.

They enjoyed learning the actions for the World Harmony Run song.

Peace can always be found in the heart.

Everyone has their own way of preparing for the special moment of holding the Peace torch.

Sadanand took them through a thorough warm up before they started running.

They were good runners and did a few laps of the track with the team.

Caslav enjoys chatting to them after running.

We left feeling energised and ready for an afternoon of running through the Finnish countryside. It was beautiful with trees lining the roads and nice fresh air.

Its apple season in Finland- apple trees every where with a bumper crop this year!

We met several locals who were happy to hear about the Peace Run and hold the torch.

A passing rain shower couldn't dampen our enjoyment of the surroundings.

A local milk stall.

Niharika, one of our Finnish co-ordinators gets out on the road.

Roxanna always has a smile:-)

This lovely family had heard about the Peace Run coming and were waiting on the road for the runner to pass-thanks for your enthusiasm.

Olivia and Kagni going strong.
