The Mission Marlins, a competitive swim team, join us for an impromtu Peace Run around the track.

Amburoha gets out on the road for her first run! She joined our team in Vancouver and we are happy to have her with us.

Prapti carries to the torch into Hope, BC.

We are greeted in Hope by John Fortoloczky, the Corporate Administration Officer.

Theresa, a "Bloomin' Volunteer", reflects on peace as she holds the torch.

The team stands with members of the community in front of the newly dedicated Peace Tree.

Michelle Richardson, the Event Coordinator, carries the torch in a run around the park with her daughter Tallia. The ever-enthusiastic Hussein (pictured behind) came from Vancouver especially for this event.

Scott holds the torch and leads the run for a few steps.

Tallia was the first through the finish line!

We were so happy to recieve free ice cream bars from a very generous vendor on this hot July day!

The men's team relays the torch into Merritt, BC.

Yatkara is thrilled to be out on the road (and finally on the other side of the camera, as he usually plays the role of our #1 photographer!)

Dennis happily runs the torch the final stretch into Merritt.

Larry Plotnikoff, Manager of Leisure Services Department, offered his kind encouragement to the team.

Kanala leads us to Spirit Square, in the centre of town.

Felicity, of the Recreation Department of Merritt, came out to greet us and carry the torch with us into the ceremony.

Mayor Susan Roline holds the Peace Torch along with her grandaughter Delena.

Headi from England is a volunteer for the Chamber of Commerce in Merritt.

Vanessa from SHAW TV takes a moment to hold the torch and offer her good wishes and smiles for peace.

Tom, from Merritt, leads us in a Peace Walk around Spirit Square.

Salil answers some questions for the Merritt Herald and SHAW TV.

Arpan chats with Reed and Dalena, the Mayor's lovely grandchildren.

Later in the day Salil runs into the gorgeous city of Kelowna.

Arpan offers the torch to Mayor Walter Gray who kindly came out to greet us in front of City Hall.

Mayor Walter Gray offers the Proclamation of Friendship, a declaration celebrating 200 years of peace between the United States and Canada.

He also takes a few steps with the team, luckily he had his running shoes on!

Canada Day displays are still in abundance everywhere.

A journalist from the Kelowna newspaper kindly came out to cover the story and share the torch with us.

Some of the team took the opportunity to jump into this cool, pristine lake- the perfect end to a hot day!
