Oslo - Karlstad

Reported by Jan Klaile 165.0 km

Starting from Oslo we reached the border...

...at Morokulien Peace park

Greeting us were to the right Mayor of Eda Municipality Johanna Söderberg and to the left from the Peace Park Christina

The Peace monument celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The name Morokulien comes from the Norwegian word for fun: moro, in Swedish: kul, coming together in one: i en. Similiary the two pillars of the momument are the two countries comming together as one at their summits.

...an ancient border stone...

This Peace Bridge is the world's smalles bridge connecting two countries

'The Peace between Sweden and Norway has lasted two hundred years...Peace are in our hearts and minds, as brothers and sisters' (from Mayors speech)

Every year Morokulien is visited by some 100.000 visitors from all over the world. It is the hope that they are all affected by the park's peaceful surroundings.

Thank you for sharing your park with us!
