Montreal

We started our journey with a visit to McGill University where we have a Peace Tree growing nicely. Here we offered some moments of silence.

We also shared the torch with nice people.

Contemplating a higher nature.

Students from Face school were here to practice violin and cello.

More nice people

Peaceful meditation.

Sonia organized this event and Devaki leads the group.

Showing our route.

Unique statue.

Scooters and runners

Vidura was our dauntless running captain today!

Navigating the city.

Meeting people on their way to work.

Here we meet with Alain Vallancourt at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral.

Alain leads us with the torch..

and in prayer.

Vidura 'the great' cooking us a delicious breakfast.

His special gongs were awesome.

...singing bowl therapy

Vidura demonstrates various techniques for playing his wide variety of singing bowls, bells and gongs.

This group of singers were delighted to hold the torch with us as we passed by.

Vidura and Arpan to Mount Royal

We started our run up the small mountain at a famous statue by the trail head

It was quite a beautiful and well groomed trail up the hill.

Along the way we met locals who were happy to share the torch with us, offering their goodwill and wishes for Peace.

These two women were delighted to share the torch as they came by walking their dogs.

Friends from Syria offer their goodwill.

Near the end of our run we stopped at a newly created lake.

Allison Haggart of College Notre-Dame receives the Certificate of Appreciation from Devaki and Sonia, our Montreal organisers.

College students from Notre-Dame.

We ran with the students across the street to the Oratory of St. Joseph.

Saint-Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal.

The students were very enthusiastic and had lots of endurance as they led us up the long stairways to the Oratory.

Father Grou, the current head of the Oratory, kindly welcomed us as he holds the torch and blesses our team.

We gathered by the Carillon and listened to our Peace Run Song, composed by Sri Chinmoy, played quite beautifully by the talented carillon player.

Singing the Peace Run song for our new peace loving friends.

The College students then joined us for a mini Peace Run around the grounds of the Oratory of St. Joseph.

After the mini Peace Run with these very enthusiastic young adults we had an inspiring talk with them at the cafeteria. They shared their ideas and inspirations with us about their involvement in trying to foster positive changes in the world through their own efforts and their work with the community and other social avenues.

A look at the inside of this majestic church at St. Joseph's.

The pipe organ here was incredibly beautiful and ornate.

It turned out to be quite a spiritually blessed day for us as carried the torch to so many special places in Montreal today.
