Reykjavík miðbær - Reykjavík Breiðholt

Reported by Suren Suballabhason 20.0 km

Reykjavík City Hall seen across the Pond where we had our Peace Run opening ceremony today.

Sést í Ráðhúsið handan Tjarnarinnar þaðan sem opnunarathöfn Sri Chinmoy heimseiningar Friðarhlaupsins fór fram í dag.

The Reykjavík Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Tree, planted 2 years ago.

Friðartré Reykjavíkurborgar sem plantað var fyrir 2 árum.

Mayor Dagur B. Eggertsson came early to the ceremony, and immediately started chatting with the kids.

Dagur B. Eggertsson borgarstjóri var tímanlega á ferðinni og byrjaði strax að spjalla við krakkana af Tjarnarborg.

The kids from the kindergarten had made drawings of peace.

Krakkarnir af Tjarnarborg höfðu teiknað myndir um frið.

Everybody feels peace in their heart.

Allir finna frið í hjartanu.

Then a very soulful passing of the Peace Torch with representatives of the different continents.

Síðan var friðarkyndillinn látinn ganga milli allra, þar á meðal fulltrúum heimsálfanna.

Mayor Dagur B. Eggertsson remarked that, although peace should be our birthright, the world is such that we need to strive for it and that is why the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is so important.

Dagur vék að því í ræðu sinni að þó að friður ætti að vera sjálfsagður, þá þarf að hafa fyrir honum í heiminum í dag og því er Sri Chinmoy heimseiningar Friðarhlaupið svo mikilvægt.

Mayor Dagur runs a symbolic loop for peace with everyone.

Dagur leiddi svo hópinn hlaupandi einn hring fyrir frið.

Running around to the different continents and meeting animals from there.

Hlaupið á milli heimsálfanna og hitt dýr frá þeim álfum.

Smiling peace-lovers.

Brosandi friðelskendur.

Running on, one Team went to the district of Breiðholt, where we met kids from Leiknir sports club.

Áfram var hlaupið í Breiðholt og þar hittum við krakka úr Leikni.

Some kids really put their heart and soul into the Torch.

Sumir krakkar lögðu allt sitt í friðaróskirnar.

A nice group of young peace-lovers.

Fríður hópur ungra friðelskenda.

After midnight, the sun isn't really setting.

Sólin sest varla þessa dagana.

The other Team ran along the coastline to the neighbouring town of Seltjarnarnes.

Hitt liðið hljóp á Seltjarnarnes.

And then onwards to sports club Víkingur.

Og svo var hlaupið í Víkingsheimilið.
