Brisbane, Qld

Reported by Nikolaus Drekonja

Today, on a sunny Brisbane morning, the Peace Run visited Greenslopes Sate School.

Children, Teachers and Parents warmly welcomed us to their beautiful community.

Team Captain, Amelendu Edelsten, together with the Peace Run Team, led the presentation.

At one point the children learned the words and actions to the “World-Harmony Run” Song by the Founder of the Peace Run, Sri Chinmoy, and together we enjoyed musical delight.

Later on, house captains Venice and Poppy came up to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the Peace Run team on behalf of their school.

The next part of the ceremony was the planting of a Peace Tree.

Students from JP4 with their teacher Anita crafted beautiful drawings for the occasion and each student hung theirs on a branch of the new Peace Tree.

Thank you so much for your beautiful works of art!

Before our visit came to an end, children got a chance to walk with the lit Peace torch.

Our special thanks goes to Nicola Leslie, the deputy of the school for her cheerful support in organising and making this meeting happen.

Thank you everyone at Greenslopes Primary, you are awesome!
