San Diego, CA - Long Beach, CA

Another beautiful morning began! From San Diego we are now heading north up the beautiful California coast.

The first runners are out, with big smiles.

We started our running a little south of beautiful La Jolla Beach.

Waiting for the runners to come, the water was just perfect to dip our feet in. We cannot wait for a full dip later on the day!

Like heaven!

Meeting peace lovers along the way!

"Listen to Nature" is a compilation of prose and poems written by the founder of the Peace Run, Sri Chinmoy. On our way we saw a Free Little Library and donated it for the local people to enjoy.

Here the peace runners come.

We arrived at Self-Realization Fellowship in Encinitas, where Paramahansa Yogananda wrote "The Autobiography of a Yogi".

We were treated to a visit to the Self Realisation Fellowship Meditation Gardens.

Brother Noel and Brother Vajrananda welcomed us and led us in a still and peaceful meditation in the Saint Francis Circle.

Thank you for receiving us Brothers Noel and Vajrananda, and blessing our Peace Torch. Twenty years ago, Sri Chinmoy visited these gardens of Yogananda's Self-Realization Fellowship with Ravi Shankar and Carl Lewis.

After the moment of peace together we get a chance to get to know each other.

We also had the opportunity to explore the wonderful gardens and gaze in awe at the majestic panoramic ocean view.

Two Italians.

Two friends. Mongolia and Kazakistan together.

A big welcome on the Peace Run team to Varunavi from Switzerland and Slovakia!

Off we go towards Carlsbad.

Passers-by get a chance to make a wish for peace too.

We were so happy that our dear friend Jess Gumkowski from Yogi Triathlete joined us to run the last few miles into Carlsbad.

The Mayor Pro Tem, Hon. Priya Bhat-Patel welcomed us at Carlsbad City Hall.

We introduce ourselves and the countries we are from.

We sang "A New World of Peace", composed by Sri Chinmoy. Our new friend, Hon. Priya Bhat-Patel, very kindly praised our singing and appreciated the mantric quality of the song.

Thank you Hon. Priya Bhat-Patel for such a warm welcome to Carlsbad!

Thank you to our friend Jess for joining us! Such an inspiration to run together with her!

Bye bye Jozsef! See you on the next Peace Run. It has been great having you on the team and we will miss your enthusiasm and joy!

We were delighted to catch up with Papaha's brother Jim who came out to lend his support.
