By the end of April we would have run 989 miles- from New York to Georgia. Thanks to our super-enthusiastic Internatinal team, we still have!
Meet some of the North American Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home "run-at-home" Peace Run 2020 womens team...

Akbota, Kazakhstan
“We are so fortunate to have our Peace Run. This is such sweet but at the same time very powerful expression of one’s will to do something meaningful and fruitful to the world. It is the best way to connect with the soul of the country and carry on the Message of Oneness and Peace. Somehow it is much easier and faster to transform your nature during the Peace Run. The feeling that you are doing the right thing and at the right moment is always present when I am on the Peace Run".

Sweta, Nepal
"Thank you for the wonderful run the miles project!!!"

Pipasa, USA
"I have always loved the Peace Run. I’ve been involved with the Peace Run for the whole 33 years of it’s existence: first as a coordinator, then as a runner, and when no longer able to run, back to coordinating.
Peace and love are the greatest powers for good in this world. We can develop our world-oneness through the joy of healthy exercise, sharing the journey with our fellow students of Peace.
Thank you - Now I’m happy to contribute by walking!"

Nastya, Ukraine

"I love the Peace Run for its message of peace and oneness. I love to run, so for me there's no better, more joyful way to spread peace. It is a true blessing for me to be able to participate in Sri Chinmoy's vision since its beginning in 1987.
Since we can't go to schools this year or on the road, I am very grateful to be able to participate adding my miles this year running, hoping and praying for a more peaceful, harmonious world where we can be one".

Udita, Bangladesh/USA
"The Peace Run unites people from all walks of life to simply remind ourselves that peace begins with each one of us. Runners who participate in this relay for peace spread the message of Sri Chinmoy, “World peace can be achieved when, in each person, the power of love replaces the love of power.” While holding or running with the Peace Torch, each person makes a promise to do his or her part in making the world a more harmonious place".

I love running and feel so fortunate to still be able to run! I will be running my miles from Oslo Norway".

that will be a great inspiration. May our peace efforts continue to flood
the world with Sri Chinmoy's message".

"Peace Run means running for peace to me. In the environment I can hear the sound of nature and it only brings me peace of mind. Like being alone watching the sunset in the rice field or on the ocean.
In general, running with the torch we can share the spirit of the Peace Run -that Peace belongs to everyone from all walks of life -to give all people the chance to hold the torch and offer their prayers for a better world".

Stacey, New Zealand/Australia
"The peace run is a beautiful reminder to me of how connected the world of ours is. We all express peace in our own unique way and that is what makes our lives so vibrant, rich and fulfilling".

"I’m so happy to be part of the Peace Run this year! Although, it’s different than other years, having a weekly goal for myself and sharing it every week is really inspiring to me. And being part of an event that my international family is also taking part in is really helpful, especially at this time when we are isolated because of the world situation. Knowing I’m part of something bigger is a source of joy, oneness and is so encouraging!"

I have been part of of the Peace Run for more than half of my life. I love how people are drawn to it as a way to share their own love of peace. It increases my faith and hope to see how sincerely people love and have hope for each other and for our world. "This year seems like a special year for peace. For a start, this is a totally new experience, and beyond all the present tragedies and difficulties, we see glimmers of new possibilities.
I am so grateful to still have the opportunity to run for peace as part of a team.
I pray that out of this new, still, and silent time we can all find within ourselves a deeper love, a deeper peace, and a deeper longing for unity to share with our Oneness-Home World Family".

'If you are a true God-lover,
Then at times you are bound to break
Your old traditions
For the new transformation
Of this earth-planet'.
-Sri Chinmoy

Brahmata, Canada
"The Peace Run has taught me that matter who we are, where we are, or what challenges we face, we can all contribute to a better world! Never give up, because sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference- a smile, a song, a few steps forward. Lacing up our running shoes and dedicating these miles to peace is one way that we can keep our hopes alive".

Rotraud, Austria
"Peace begins with me. Having the opportunity to help spreading this peace on earth makes me grateful and happy".

Purnakama, Canada
"When you have that true inner joy, it spreads to everyone. You can't help smiling when someone else is smiling and happy, and it feels so good to spread that joy to everyone that you meet on the run. It feels like the easiest and most wonderful job in the world to bring peace and joy to others simply by being happy and joyful yourself".

Hladini, Canada
"So thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of the amazing Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run! Even though we are not on the road together, it gives me a sense of being a member of the team and contributing to the circuit through the States and Canada. This is manifesting oneness in a very unique way. Thank you!"

Bhikshuni, USA
"The Peace Run is teaching me that the reality of peace is tangible and can be offered even at the most difficult times".

Garima, USA
"I love to run, and have been a supporter of The Peace Run since the beginning. Having recently retired, I was looking forward to my first experience of actually joining the team, so until I really get to go out on the big run, I am really happy I can still be a part of it in this way!"

Svetlana, Russia
"For me, Peace Run is the one of my favorite events. During the Peace Run, incredible transformations occur. To your surprise, by the end of the time on the team, you realize that you are a little different, you have become a better person. And I feel that my environment changes after that.
A few days ago, someone sent me these words by Sri Chinmoy,
'The world is something very huge, but each person represents the world. You and I create the world by the vibrations that we offer to the world. Any little room is a miniature world. If we can invoke Peace and then offer it to somebody else, we will see how Peace expands from one to two persons and gradually to the world at large'
This message that everyone can change the world for the better by changing themselves inspires me to run again and again".

Vasudha, USA
"The best way to see the beauty of America--and feel the hearts of Americans--is to run with the Peace Torch through the back roads, small towns, school visits, and all the other events that pop up along the route. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be connected with the Peace Run in any way--and I'm sure this 2020 "virtual run" will be provide us all with innovative, creative ways to "pass the torch" from one heart to another".

Varunavi, Slovakia/Switzerland
"I love the enthusiasm, dynamism and joy the Peace Run brings wherever it goes. It opens hearts of people we meet and the world indeed seems a better place immediately.
In a metaphoric way, I'd say by participating I always receive exponentially more than what I am able to offer and that's the magic of the Run, the team spirit, connections and support".

Harashita, Japan
"The Peace Run, for me, symbolises infinite possibilities of peace-expressions and peace-experience. It is something extremely beautiful, and ever expanding. It can be done by one runner, or it can involve thousands of people from all walks of life. It can include not only running, but all sorts of cultural expressions, traditional and modern! It is a golden opportunity for progress, for all those involved in one way or another. I love to be part of the Peace Run, and I also love to witness how things unfold in each event".

Peace Run founder, Sri Chinmoy, in April 1993

"True, our physical bodies have not been and will not be able to cover the length and breadth of the world. But the spirit that we have deep within, and the spirit that we truly are, has covered the length and breadth of the world many, many times.
During my highest meditation, many, many times I have clearly seen that our self-giving spirit in all its beauty and fragrance has covered the length and the breadth of the world. Not only that, something more: there are countless souls who have not seen the light of day, yet when they come into the world, they will feel, they are bound to feel, this self-giving spirit that is encircling and encircling the world. The beauty, the fragrance, the light and delight of this spirit will kindle the flames of aspiration in the newcomers. They will also sing the same song, the same song of peace, universal peace".
