Thank you to the Best Western Plus in Sandpoint, ID for providing complementary rooms for the women's team.  Your generosity makes it possible for us to continue running for peace.

Thank you also to the Outdoors Inn Motel for sharing a complementary room with us.

Also a huge thanks as well to Hotel Ruby for the complementary room.  We really value your support of the Peace Run.

Rupasi met Debi Mouser from Clark Fork, a peace lover and good soul.  Debi and her son AJ were enjoying a morning respite and were very happy to learn about us.

Tyreil was enthusiastic to run and share his own hopes for peace in our world.

The women's team ran by an assortment of old cars resembling an auto museum.  There is great joy in seeing the uniqueness of each area we pass through.

Pat, a peaceful transplant from Detroit.  Thank you for joining us.

Our next stop is the City of Thompson Falls, MT.  Mayor Rusti Leivestad, her husband and dog Flora were waiting for us outside when we arrived.  Her enthusiasm and good nature were such a treat.  Councilman Larry Lack also came to meet the team.

Rusti tells us about how she became the Mayor of Thompson Falls.

Councilmember Erline Powell seen in the middle holding the torch was also present to show her enthusiasm and to welcome the team.

Councilman Lack is such a great steward of his town.  His love of nature and the peace he finds in Thompson Falls was a joy to see.

Lorraine Renard from the International Women's Club told us inspiring stories about the work they do to support women globally.  At a recent international gathering, Lorraine was inspired to tell us that attendees sang 'Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me' many times during their event.

Thank you Lorraine.  You set an excellent peace maker and advocate.  And thank you Mayor Leivestad and Councilmembers Lack and Powell.

After our meeting, local resident Karen was our tour guide to the Thompson Falls Dam and surrounding area.

It was great spending the time with you, Karen, and learning about this important part of Thompson Falls.

Brian, it is great to know you.

Finally, we arrive in Plains, MT where the team will spend the night.  Mayor Joel Banham from Plains came to our campground to visit with the team.

accompanied by Councilman John Roesler.

Mayor Banham spent nearly an hour with the team, telling stories and listening to ours.  We all feel so much at home with our new friends.  Thank you Joel. You are an excellent caretaker and representative of Plains.
