Amersfoort - Nijmegen

Reported by Pranayani Schuringa 90.0 km

Our first school in Amersfoort was 'De Kosmos', a wonderful school where we met Elke, the sister of Abhinabha! Her kids attend this school.

Happy high fives as we enter! Flynn is in front, he is Abhinabha's nephew.

All ears and eyes for the presentation!

And this is our torch, held by many different people. The players of Ajax (soccerteam of Amsterdam), Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, The Pope and many, many schoolkids from around the world!

After the Kosmos we ran to the National Park Hoge Veluwe. A wonderful run through the beautiful and big park.

Preadeep and Robert take a moment of Silence and reflection before their run.

Runners running and runners on the Free white bikes provided by the park for all visitors.

At the main entrance we were welcomed officially by the official visitors management.

We explained our goals and activities.

Such a warm and heartfelt welcome!

Peace Run and staff from the park infront of the classical entree.

All runners were so kindly provided with a lunchbag in a nice cotton backpack from 'De Hoge Veluwe' park.

Lunch!

Entering the Kröller-Müller museum.

We were so nicely received by Kees, head surveillance of the Museum and his colleague Anneke van der Eerden.

Explaining the idea and activities of the Peace Run and expressing our gratitude for this wonderful visit to the special museum.

Passing on the fire!

Devashishu's father is a sculpturist in the U.K. So he knows a thing or two of art also!

Where the joy of running, peace and art meet...

The meeting was in front of the museum. The park around the museum is filled with art too.

Entering the Kröller-Müller museum. Known for origina Vincent van Gogh paintings, Picasso's, sculptures and many more artpieces.

'The true artist helps the world by revealing mystic truths'. Artpiece from Bruce Nauman at the entrance of the museum. Leila and Pranayani embrace this idea!

This is Ponte San Trovaso (Venise), 1903-1905, by Henri Edmond Cross.

'Path in the Park Arles', 1888, by Vincent van Gogh.

Our Slovenian runners Narmadyuti and Purupriya enjoying Van Goghs take on Potatoes...

Bhadrika studying Van Goghs favourite flower...The Sunflower.

The Real Thing!!

Van Gogh's famous Terrace by Night in France. A true masterpiece. Increadible to watch the orignal painting with all its vibrancy and mystic feeling.

The Bridge of Langlois at Arles by Van Gogh... So colourful and masterfully done. The atmosphere can really be felt in his paintings.

Postman by Vincent.

Portrait of Augustine Roulin, 'La Berceuse'. With the string she rocks a baby cradle. These are people Vincent knew personally.

Picasso! Guitare (1919). Original Oilpainting and sand on canvas.

Horse and Rider by Marino Marini (1951-1955).

Abhinabha thinking hard about his next step on 'Jardin d'émail' (1974) by Jean Dubuffet. A great artpiece outside which gave a very surrealistic feeling as it was placed in the woods in the park.

Peace Runners carried by a big Artpiece .... Blue on White and and a hint of Black...

Our next visit was the Erica school in Otterlo. A very warm and supportive school to our Peace Run ides. They really welcomed our Peace Run as they themselves are also very actively working with the children on the themes of friendship, peace and harmony.

Running into the schoolground.

High fives!!

Presentation to a very attentive young and eager audience.

Narmadyuti and Purupriya do a little game with the kids where the kids have to guess the origins of their country by guessing their language right.

Abhinabha asks if the kids want to join the Peace Run by carrying the Torch and passing it on.

Peace, peace, peace

The head of the school is receiving a copy of an artpiece by Sri Chinmoy from Leila as a thank you for receiving us so warmly.
