This morning the Peace Run Team had a very warm welcome when we arrived  at the Wilmington Friends School in Wilmington, Delaware.

Great interest was shown in our "Guess the country" game where the children try to guess where each runner is from after we offer them clues to our countries of origin. These students did very well in guessing all of our countries.

The students and their teachers sang together with us a very special song "World-Harmony Run" (composed by Peace Run Founder, Sri Chinmoy). This song also has some actions we created to make it very dynamic and fun, especially for the children.

In silence we try to feel peace in our hearts in an exercise which always creates a sense of calmness and a peaceful feeling amongst all the children and teachers.

Our young hosts then offered us a short and cute singing performance of their own.

The school's Principal and the teachers ran around the auditorium with the Torch to the great delight of the children.

We gratefully offered our Certificate of Appreciation and a colorful "Jharna Kala" painting representing World Harmony. (painted by Sri Chinmoy, the Founder of the Peace Run). It was truly an honor be hosted by such a wonderful group of children and staff.

The children and Principal happily ran along with some of our Peace Run Team in a short Peace Run, each taking turns to carry the Torch.

We met a lovely group of young women from the Kuumba Academy in Wilmington who all ran and walked 2 miles with some of our the Peace Run Team to this beautiful park and back to their school.

The Peace Run Ceremony took place in a nearby playground on this lovely day.

The "World-Harmony Run" song was sung by our team with the students joining in with the actions.

The children were very enthusiastic and rhythmical in the actions, reflecting some obvious dance training which they then proceeded to demonstrate to us with their own lovely performances.

Some of the dance class showed the Peace RunTeam an impressive dance performance.

After the dynamic dance performance they experienced the calmness and inner peace through a short meditation practice.

Offering our Peace Run Certificate of Appreciation and a colorful "Jharna Kala" artwork representing world Harmony (painted by Sri Chinmoy, the Founder of the Peace Run).

We are very grateful to this wonderful group of talented and peaceful young women who welcomed us today to share peace and friendship in their city of Wilmington.

Each of the students had the opportunity to hold the Torch for a while and make a soulful wish for peace.

We then proceeded to run through Newark to meet the Mayor at the Hillside Park.

On the way to the Hillside Park we met enthusiastic peace lovers. They gladly shared the Peace Torch and offered their own wishes and prayers for a more peaceful world as thousands of others have done.

Arriving at Hillside Park.

Newark Mayor Jerry Clifton could not wait for the team's arrival. He happily took the torch and led the Peace Run Team through Hillside Park.

What an extremely lovely and kind man. Mr. Clifton offered us a very nice heart warming speech to the Peace Run Team. The world desperately needs such committed concerned leaders to make it a better place.

We are grateful to Josh from the Newark Post who kindly came to cover this event.

These two students from the University of Delaware who happened to be in the park were impressed by the Peace Run event and initiative. They wanted to hold the torch to make a wish for peace. Their wonderful smiles helped to brighten up this day in Newark even more.

We are very grateful to the Best Western Chesapeake Bay North Inn as they provided complimentary accommodations for the whole Peace Run Team.
