Yonago - Tottori

We woke to beautiful atmospheric scenes of mist swirling around the mountains.

A short run took us to our first school for the day.

Kuzumo Primary School gave the team a great welcome as we ran in.

Yahva, our Japanese co-ordinator does a great job presenting the Peace Run to the kids.

The children sang a beautiful and moving song for us which was written for a memorial service for Hiroshima. We were very touched by their performance.

The children had tremendous enthusiasm for running with the torch.

The rain was our constant companion today as we ran, actually providing more comfortable running conditions than the heat of yesterday.

Dinnertime saw us treated to a Japanese speciality - Okonomiyaki. You cook your own food on a griddle on the table, it was great fun to cook and delicious to eat!
