We start the last day from Naruto city hall. Mr. Tani, Vice mayor of Naruto, welcomes us. Naruto city was the first place in Japan to play Beethoven's 9th symphony. It is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Music, like humanities aspiration for peace, also unites people of different culture or race.
2018年の日本の最終日は鳴門市役所から出発です。谷副市長がご挨拶と激励をくださいました。鳴門市は日本で初めてベートーベンの第九を演奏してから今年で100周年を迎えます。音楽もまた、人々の平和への思いと同じように、人種や文化を超えて皆をつなげるものです。

We run together with kids from Shizuki Primary School for about 2km to our goal of the last day, Awaji city hall.
志筑小学校のみんなと一緒に2キロほど走り、最終日のゴール地点である淡路市役所に来ました
Mr. Kado, mayor of Awaji city welcomed us with his speech. Awaji Island is a Japan heritage, and a nuclear free city.
門市長の歓迎のスピーチ。島根県の出雲市からスタートし日本の最初の土地である淡路島でゴールすることは、いいストーリーであるとお話して下さいました。淡路島は日本遺産に認定されているそうです。淡路市は非核平和都市宣言をしています。
We are very grateful to end the Japan Run safely in this city. Japan's wish for peace and oneness will be carried with the torch to China, Mongolia, Russia, and it will connect more and more people with same feelings. The world is a big oneness-home filled with people wishing for peace.
淡路市を代表して感謝状を受け取って頂きました。淡路市で無事にランを終了できた事に感謝しています。ありがとうございました。最後の淡路市を含め、日本の皆さんからトーチに託してもらった平和の思いはこの後、中国、モンゴル、ロシアへと届きどんどん人々が繋がって行きます。世界は平和を願う人でいっぱいの大きな家族です。
