Morning Beauty of Gualala River Redwood Park, one of the best campground and swimming hole combinations in California! The New York Times rated it the number two spot among the of the six best wild swimming spots in California.

The Cathedral Tree, in the centre of the campground, consists of 15 trunks of redwood trees growing in a circle around an open area. This phenomena, called a "fairy ring", is caused by the parent tree dying and decaying, leaving the sprouts that have grown into mature trees.

The water is getting colder and colder as we run north. But we are not skipping such a beautiful beach.
