The international Peace Run team is greeted with a warm Irish welcome by the rising Sun as they sail into Cork Harbour.
Our first school visit for the 2025 Peace Run in Ireland is Shanbally National School and we are greeted with high fives as we enter the courtyard.

We arrive at City Hall for a special meeting with Lord Mayor Dan Boyle of Cork City.
Our European captain Devashishu highlights the importance of international friendship and harmony in the world.
In the Lord Mayors office we take a group photo and have the honour of signing the visitors book.

From City Hall we run through the beautiful streets of Cork.
We meet some very friendly local police men on the way. In Ireland the Police are called An Garda Siochana which literally means the guardians of the Peace.
We arrive at Elizabeth Fort where we are met by Laura and her very enthusiastic team. Laura tells all about the history of the this fascinating fortress which was first constructed in 1601.
Gianluca is imprisoned until he agrees to run at least 20 kilometres!
Even the old war veterans have become peace loving folk.
