Titarangi, Auckland - Onehanga, Auckland

Reported by Harita Davies 1.0 km

Our first event today was a visit to Woodland Park School in Titirangi, where we were warmly welcomed.

Our moment of feeling peace in our hearts was so sweet!

We offered our Certificate of Appreciation and an artwork by Peace Run Founder, Sri Chinmoy, to a fine selection of school representatives.

Time to run!

This girl is part Indonesian, so she was very happy to get the Indonesian card.

This is a Sri Chinmoy Peace Tree that we previously planted with The Peace Run team. We were so happy to see it is growing very nicely!

Thank you to all our friends at Woodland Park School! We look forward to our next visit!

Our second school visit was to Kohia Terrace School, where we were also eagerly welcomed by a wonderful group of peace loving students!

We ran a couple of laps around the courtyard with some of the children.

The school has an incredibly diverse student body, and there was a representative carrying a flag from each country!

Both from the Netherlands! ;)

There are kids behind all these flags!

Feeling peace in our hearts...

Our youngest team member, Benjamin from France, giving clues for the children to guess his country. He is very popular with the kids!

We all enjoy honoring the teachers by having them run a lap around the students in recognition of the significance of their role in working for peace.

Time to pass the torch!

We were invited to stay for a cup of tea, and were struck by the cups that say "The power to dream, the passion to achieve."

A special thank you to the Senior Leadership Team: Kerry Hales (Inclusive Practice Leader),  Alison Spence (Principal), and Catherine Palmer (Deputy Principal).

We were delighted that some of the kids we met at Golden Grove school yesterday were eager to run the torch a few blocks down the road to St Josephs School in Onehunga.

Thank you Golden Grove team! They were led by school principal and long time Peace Runner, Helena Royden, pictured bottom right.

A couple of students from St Josephs came out to lead us in.

Officially passing the torch from Golden Grove to St Josephs.

Peace always feels good...

Singing the World Harmony Run Song with actions!

Next it was time for some fun skits which demonstrate peace and not peace. this was the "not peace" version ;)

Run run run run run run, World Hamony Run!

Thank you St Josephs School- we loved meeting you all!

Time for us to cheer for the teachers to run!

The super hero teachers of St Josephs!

Time to hold the torch!

Pransukh joins the kids in a Peace Run lap around the school!

All our gratitude to all the Peace Lovers we met today- you give us so much hope!

Peace  Opens up the first door  To every human hope. -Sri Chinmoy
