Tarsus - Pozantı

Reported by Ondřej Mocný 81.0 km

Nadir Bey from Tarsus was very kind to organize for us schools for today's morning. Thank you, Nadir!

And early in the morning we appeared in the Çağlaman grammar school.

We invited other classes to join us on the field and soon enough there were kids all around.

We tought the kids Peace Run Song.

As I said, kids all around!

Thank you for your enthusiasm!

The Certificate of Appreciation went to the school principal.

The next one was Saime Ezçürümez grammar school.

There was only one class but very strong atmosphere of brotherhood nad sisterhood.

The children were organized which was a nice contrast to the overwhelming enthusiasm of the previous one.

The principal was kind to invite us for çay and cookies. It was a very pleasant chat, thank you!

Local police head was so inspired by the torch that he joined us for a run!

After some rapid climbing from the sea level we were up in the skies: 1200 meters above.

But 100 more meters were to climb up to the Gülek Atatürk grammar school in the mountain town of Gülek.

The children were amazingly well organized.

And sweet!

And so were the teachers! Well, like the teacher like the students.

School representatives holding the torch.

Running is obligatory when it comes to our visits.

After stamping everyone...

...it was time to go on with the mountains.

Mostly uphill again.

It's hard to say no to çay when it's raining.

These guys knew so many stories from the hills around! They were so happy to see us running by!

We're on the top! Hurray!

Puneeta finishing her run in the rain.

The nature here is really very different and posseses a specific kind of beauty.

Quickly and speedily we descended slightly from the heights and arrived to our destination - mountain town of Pozantı.

Of course, it would be no proper ending without yet another round of çay!
