Cape of Good Hope - Cape Town

Reported by Abhijatri Robinson 75.0 km

The southern most point of the Cape Peninsula, the Cape of Good Hope has been known for ages to mariners as the Cape of Storms. As we gathered there to start this out longest African Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run prayed that their would be a storm of peace sweeping through Africa and the world.

Our multinational team were excited at the prospect of our journey through Africa. It was so windy that the torch just blew out!

The first run from the southernmost point.

This ostrich made a quick exit but another was quite friendly.

Refilling the torch!

Michon and Dhiraja near the ostrich farm at Cape Point.

The friendly one...

Scarborough - a village like no other.

These guys Dino and friend ran with us for about 5 km.

Michon just revelling in it!

Another passerby inspired by the torch!

A whole family held the torch at the lookout on Chapman's peak drive.

What a smile!

The girls - just loving it as we went though Hout Bay

This Kiwi is a long way from home.

Lions head and the 12 apostles

At the end of our first day at the foot of table mountain.

These were really friendly people who also blessed the torch

I just love the look on this little girls face.

Everyone helps to light the torch in the blow
