Hanoi - Thanh Hóa

Reported by Salil Wilson 153.0 km

Today Ling came to our hotel. She is a student at one of the schools we visited yesterday and she wanted to get to know us a little better.

So we went to a nearby park to go for a run.

While we were at the park we met with some of the park workers who do an exemplary job of keeping the park clean and well looked after.

We invited them to hold the torch.

Then we played our country guessing game which was a great ice breaker.

It turned out Ling is an excellent translator and she ensured everyone was able to participate.

We appreciated the park workers for their dedication. All the park users are very happy and grateful for a clean, beautiful and inspiring park.

On the way back we dropped into a juice/smoothie stand and had some refreshments. Mmmmm delicious!!!

Later in the afternoon we left Hanoi and drove about 3 hours to Thanh Hóa. Along the way we stopped for some tea and fresh pineapple for which the region is famous.

The officials from Thanh Hóa province graciously met us when we arrived at the hotel.

Here we are in the lobby of our hotel with our new friends from Thanh Hóa. We are looking forward to our final day of the Asia-Pacific Peace Run.
