Paraty - Mangaratiba

Reported by Dipavajan Renner 168.0 km

We started in Paraty, one of the historic Brazilian cities at the coast....

...the city very well preserved it's historic appearance...

...the tide floods the streets and cleans the city. Simple, but efficient...

...we took a morning boat ride...

...that's our boat!

...and Mena took the steering wheel at her birthday...

...a bit foggy, but the water was great for swimming....

...after an hour or so the sun came out...

...a lonely gate...

...back in Paraty - it feels like for 300 years the time stood still...

...back on solid ground...

Our gratitude to the "Pousada Aconchego" in Paraty for hosting our team!

...we went on running along the coast...

...and we arrived in Angra dos Reis...

...children of the "Colégio Fénix" awaited us eagerly...

...a full scale meeting on the main square...

...we put our hand prints on the banner...

Thank you "Colégio Fénix" for the fun!

Orchids in the middle of the city...

The "Colégio Jean Piaget" in Angra dos Reis was next:

..the school has two shifts a day: morning and afternoon...

...this was the morning shift...

...paintings decorated the sport hall...

...a great way for the kids to end their daily schedule with the Peace Run...

Thank you for the nice meeting!

...after two schools a break was needed....

...and some refreshments: thank you for the nice lunch!

"Colégio Jean Piaget" reloaded...

...the afternoon session started with the national anthem...

...big smiles as the kids passed the torch...

Thank you "Colégio Jean Piaget" for the enthusiastic meeting!

...we continued our run all the way to Mangaratiba.
