A visit to Pokhara would not be complete without an early morning sunrise moment from Sarangkot.

The Peace Run team all woke up early to be blessed with a beautiful sunrise overlooking such a dramatic landscape.

Rainbow Academic Homes was the first school for today with a large number of students greeting us with their own Peace Run banner!

They then lead us into their school of 1200 students.

The students were lining our entrance, surrounding the courtyard and up on the balconies looking down on the proceedings.

After being welcomed to the school we took a moment to speak about the Peace Run.

Sonia Gurung welcomed the Peace Run to the school, with an inspired speech expressing how peace is made by our own hands.

Followed by a wonderful cultural performance by the female students

Grade 6, 7 and 8 boys then performed the ‘journey of peace’.

Salin Thapa stayed on the stage to hold the torch after his performance.

School Principal Baburam Baral received the Certificate of Appreciation from Otis.

Each Peace Runner was called to the stage to be presented with beautiful artwork from the students.

Rainbow Academic Students led us out of the school to a meeting point with students of SOS Village School, the second for the day.

Who led us into their beautiful school, an oasis.

A group of students made their way to the stage to perform a Newari cultural dance for all in attendance. Nepal has 230 different language groups.

Pratik Sharma ended the school's presentation with a poem, an excerpt of which ...
“Peace is not a state.
In which we never met.
Peace is a relationship now I realise.
Which gives strength for everyone to rise”...

The MC Chudamani Subedi then invited the Peace Run team back onto the stage, where we tested the students geography knowledge.

Each Peace Runner was given artwork from the students.

Principal Rajendra Shrestha, kindly returned to the stage to received a Certificate of Appreciation and a small gift from the Peace Run team.

He took a moment to thank the Peace Run for coming to his school wishing us well on our journey.

A group of students then kindly led us back out of the school, and delivered us to students from Lekhnath Vibhuti Higher Sec School.

Here the Peace Torch was met by many smiling faces.

All the Peace Run team were then invited to the audience seating for the National Anthem and performances.

The Peace Run team took to the stage to talk about the Peace Run and sing the Peace Run song.

Followed by a welcome song by a choir of singers.

The students of Class 2 presented a Peace Run song to us “light a candle for peace, light a candle for love, light a candle to send around the world”

Shristi performed and amazing dance piece for the team capturing all our hearts.

Principal Shreekrishna Adhikari came onto the stage to receive the Certificate of Appreciation and artwork for the school.

Each Peace Runner received a poster from the school as a token of their gratitude for the team coming to visit.

The school also created a art exhibition for the Peace Run team to view.

The school very generously provided our runners with a delicious lunch served in a separate part of the school.

With no time to spare we raced to our fourth and final school of the day.

Students and teachers lined the entrance of Mt Annapurna School.

With the Peace Run team doing a lap of the school grounds with all the other students greeting us.

Students from class 7 and 8 performed a dance for us.

After taking a moment of peace.

the torch was run around the grounds with the Peace Run Team lining the outside giving high fives to all the students as they ran around, lead by their teachers. Beni Gurung led the run.

The team lingered for a few more moments at our last school in Pokhara and we were in no rush to leave.

Taking a moment to capture in our hearts the incredible and uplifting time the Peace Run team had in Pokhara.

Much much gratitude to the Nepal Peace Run team who did such an amazing job at organising this truly special Peace Run.
