Hranovnica - Liptovský Mikuláš

Reported by Varunavi Klabníková 64.0 km

In the morning we set off in Hranovnica where we were met by students from the local primary school and together with the sports coordinator Mgr. Martin Benda they led us to the school premises.

Ráno sme vybiehali v Hranovnici a na úplnom začiatku nás stretli žiaci z miestnej ZŚ a spoločne s Mgr. Martinom Bendom, koordinátorom vo výchove a vzdelávaní, nás doviedli do areálu školy.

The program at the school was prepared to the last detail, at the beginning we saw a modern dance choreography by talented girls.

A warm welcome by the school principal, Mgr. Lukáš Chovan.a

Milé privítanie od riaditeľa školy Mgr. Lukáša Chovana.

Even at this school we were feeling peace in the heart.

We were fortunate enough to be able to plant a new Peace Tree in the school yard.

Mali sme to šťastie, že sme mohli zasadiť nový Strom mieru v areáli školy.

... and skilled helpers helped to cover the roots completely.

... a šikovní pomocníci nám ho pomohli úplne zasypať.

While we were at the Peace tree, students from each grade ran around the playground with a lighted torch and made wishes for peace.

Zatiaľčo my sme boli pri strome, žiaci z každého ročníka bežali so zapálenou pochodňou okolo ihriska a vyslovovali želania pre mier.

In the meantime, two goddesses guarded the flame of the Peace Torch and we presented the school with the Certificate of appreciation and a drawing from the founder of the Peace Run as symbolic gifts.

Medzičasom dve bohyne strážili oheň Mierovej pochodne a my sme odovzdali škole Ďakovné listy a obraz od zakladateľa Mierového behu ako symbolické darčeky.

Another wonderful dance performance with colourful costumes that we were very impressed with.

Ďalšie nádherné tanečné vystúpenie s farebnými kostýmami, ktoré nás veľmi zaujalo.

We would have liked to have stayed at the school longer, as we enjoyed it very much, but unfortunately the schedule didn't allow it anymore, so the pupils escorted us out of the campus again after the end of the program.

We arrive at our next stop, the Komenský Primary School in Poprad, where pupils were waiting for us on both sides of the pavement.

The very skilled students prepared flags, banners, drawings and markings on the ground, which was much appreciated. We were really pleased and surprised.

Veľmi šikovní žiaci pripravili zástavky, transparenty, výkresy a vyznačenie na chodníky, čoho sme si veľmi vážili. Naozaj nás to milo potešilo a prekvapilo.

The first deputy mayor of Poprad, Mgr. Štefan Pčola and the director of the Primary school Mgr. Monika Strnková with the Peace Torch.

Prvý viceprimátor Popradu, Mgr. Štefan Pčola a riaditeľka ZŠ Mgr. Monika Strnková s Mierovou pochodňou.

Who wants peace? And who knows where our runners come from?

Kto si želá mier? A kto vie odkiaľ pochádzajú naši bežci?

Short skits to see if students recognise what is peaceful and harmonious behaviour (and what is not...)

Krátke scénky na ukážku, či žiaci spoznajú, čo je mierové a harmonické správanie (a čo nie...)

This was a skit to demonstrate how to help each other and the students appreciated it with thumbs up.

Feeling peace, love and joy in the heart.

Precítenie mieru, lásky a radosti v srdci.

The School principal inspired us with her speech and wishes for peace.

Pani riaditeľka nás inšpirovala svojím príhovorom a želaniami pre mier.

We helped the younger ones to hold the torch, and some of the older ones even told us what they wished for - only beautiful things for their family and the world.

The Deputy Mayor started a symbolic run around the continents where pupils collected stamps for their passports.

Pán viceprimátor zahájil symbolický beh okolo kontinentov, kde žiaci zbierali pečiatky do svojich pasov.

Local TV Poprad filmed footage of the whole event and we can't wait to watch their final edited cut :)

One of the gifts for the school was a painting by Sri Chinmoy - Freedom Birds.

All participants of the Peace Run event from the Komenský Poprad Primary School.

Všetci účastníci akcie Mierový beh zo ZŠ Komenského Poprad.

We admired their alley showing all their trophies. This is a sports school with a focus on basketball and during some years they were national champions.

Some basketballs are used for a well-deserved rest.

Niektoré basketbalové lopty slúžia na zaslúžený oddych.

We were honoured that our Certificate of appreciation and the painting found their place in the trophy shelf.

After a nice refreshment we had to go on the road again.

Did someone want to hide from the run? :)

To sa chcel niekto schovať pred behom? :)

The journey from Poprad to Svit was along a pleasant bike path.

Probably one of the most scenic routes - only clouds covered the peaks of the Tatra Mountains.

Asi jedna z najscénickejších trás - už len oblaky prekrývali vrcholky Tatier.

Another attempt at a scenic nature shot (but wouldn't it be better without the car? :)

Ďalší pokus o scénickú fotku v prírode (ale nebolo by to lepšie bez toho auta? :)

Arriving to Važec.

Prichádzame do Važca.

The first stop was in front of the local school for the young runners to accompany us to the nearby square.

Prvá zastávka pred miestnou školou, aby nás mladí bežci doprovodili na neďaleké námestie.

Luckily the rain stopped and we had a short performance in this beautiful village.

And of course, even there, the kids had to guess when we were playing harmony skits, held the torch and were feeling peace in their hearts.

A samozrejme aj tam mali deti hádať, kedy hráme harmonické scénky, podržali si pochodeň a precítili mier v srdci.

The Mayor of Važec wished us all good wishes in a joyful spirit and also wished for a lot of peace in everyone's heart and in the world.

The running game around the continents has arrived here too.

Bežecká hra okolo kontinentov dorazila aj sem.

Our Certificates of Appreciation were received by the mayor Milan Lištiak and the Head Principal of the Primary School in Važec, Mgr. Miroslava Juhásová.

Ďakovné listy si prevzal p. starostu Milan Lištiak a p. riaditeľka ZŠ s MŠ vo Važci, Mgr. Miroslava Juhásová.

And the last item on the agenda was the planting of the new Peace Tree.

A posledný bod programu bolo zasadenie nového Stromu mieru.

... and everyone contributed for the tree to be nicely planted.

... a každý priložil ruku k dielu, aby bol pekne zasypaný.

And after an excellent refreshment we have only a few kilometres to go to Liptovský Mikuláš. The weather is very kind to us.

A po výbornom občerstvení nám zostáva už iba niekoľko kilometrov do Liptovského Mikuláša. Počasie nám veľmi praje.
