Angkah, Bali

Reported by Sukham da Rocha 4.0 km

We left behind the tropical island of Lembongang to start another beautiful day in Bali running through the luxurious green paddy fields of the Tabanan region.

We were led by our Indonesians runners to Akshada's village, Desa Angkah.

We finally reached our first school, the SD Negeri I Angkah.

The children had prepared for us a program full of colorful performances.

We were divinely enchanted by the traditional Balinese dance

The kids very skilfully demonstrated there karate abilities.

Then followed a more rhythmic dance spreading joy in the all school

All the performers got to hold the torch...

The Principal of the school, Ms Ketut Ariani, also addressed us very kind words of support and welcome.

During the heart exercise the school children were very focused and all their sweetness came to the fore...

...radiating ttrough their eyes.

Our skits brought them a lot of joy and happiness

And they loved our Harmony Run Song Moves as well...

We presented the school with the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run certificate and a Beautiful painting by Sri Chinmoy himself entitled Love the Children.

The head of the village, Mr. Bapak Suprabawa was present as well and was proud to hold the Peace Torch with our local organizer Akshada.

Then the torch went passing on by all the students.

Thank you Negeri I Angkah for your warm welcome.

We proceeded running, crossing the small cottages and the tropical vegetation of the village.

Smell of incense paved our way while passing by the flower offerings that can be seen everywhere in Bali.

We then visited our second and last school of the day, SD Negeri 2 Angkah.

Again we were embraced by Bali's tradition and enjoyed the mystical local dances, exemplary reproduced by the school girls...

... and by the school boys as well.

Then the school girls displayed their rhythmic movements in a modern and enthusiastic choreography.

They definitely got the attention of the younger generations.

Mr Bapak Suprabawa came also to the second school, here he is holding the torch with Mr. Nyoman Suriadnyara, the principal of Negeri II Angkah

For a few moments, we all got the chance to feel together peace in our hearts

Then the torch was held by all the joyful kids

After passing the torch we made a relay run all around the world, here the kids are passing by the Australia station and they had to run like kangaroos.

The school received our certificate of appreciation and also a beautiful Jharna Kala painting

We will eternally remember the simple and friendly atmosphere we experienced in SD Negeri II Angkah

We ended our Peace Run day at Akshada's home in Angkah were we were presented with a sumptuous feast

Akshada is an excellent cook and an excellent host she had ready for us all kinds of traditional delicacies

The delicious local bananas were displayed in such a beautiful traditional way

Coconut party!

Many, many thanks to Akshada's team, that host us with such love and kindness and made this day another blissful journey in Bali
