We were inspired to do a Peace Run from the summit of Mt. Kosciuszko, Australia's tallest Mountain, to finish at the statue of Sri Chinmoy, the founder of the Peace Run, located on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra. It will take us three days of running.
First we had to get to the top of Mt. Kosciuszko. So our day began with a really fun chairlift ride.
At the top of the chair lift we still had about 6 km to get to the actual top of the mountain.
Along the way much of the trail is raised up on metal walk ways to preserve the delicate alpine vegetation.

The running begins.
It was a lovely day. We felt only happy people were allowed out today.
Once off the mountain Bayarkhuu carried the torch toward Jindabyne.
Atul ran next.
Meanwhile down at lower altitudes Nurari, Hastakamala and Anubha started their leg of today's relay.
We stopped by Gidgilly's Day Care Centre in Jindabyne to meet some of the local kids.
Rathin kept us entertained with his Ukelele.
We went for a run around their yard.
The last miles of the day were very kindly done by our dear friends (l - r) Archi, Alina, Sam, and Jackson accompanied by Abhinandan. Archi and Jackson are sons of Alina - thanks so much for covering the miles.
