Today we started with a very nice snack in the Penzión na slnečnej stráni in Vyhne. We presented our Certificate of Appreciation to its staff for excellent care in a wonderful environment with very positive energy.
Dnešný deň sme začali s veľmi príjemným občerstvením v Penzióne na slnečnej stráni vo Vyhniach. Jeho personálu sme odovzdali náš Ďakovný list za vynikajúcu starostlivosť v úžasnom prostredí s veľmi pozitívnou energiou.
For the running route from Žarnovica, we chose a cycling route outside the city and our runners quite enjoyed the nature and running uphill.
Pre trasu na beh zo Žarnovice sme zvolili cyklistickú trasu mimo mesta a naši bežci si celkom užívali prírodu a beh do kopca.
In Horné Hámre we were welcomed by the mayor, Ing. Milan Mokrý, who is also an avid athlete, especially a cyclist. The village was preparing for the big celebrations of the 630th anniversary of the first written mention of the village and we were glad that the village still found time for us.
V Horných Hámroch nás privítal starosta obce, Ing. Milan Mokrý, ktorý je tiež zanieteným športovcom, hlavne cyklistom. Obec sa pripravovala na veľké oslavy 630. výročia prvej písomnej zmienky obce a sme radi, že si napriek tomu obec našla na nás čas.
The Mayor sincerely congratulated us on all our efforts in spreading the idea of peace, because it really needs to be remembered every day. When there is no peace, harmony and love in the world, then everything else loses its meaning.
Pán starosta nám úprimne zablahoželal všetko dobré v našom úsilí šírenia myšlienky mieru, pretože to si naozaj treba pripomínať každý deň. Keď nie je na svete mier, harmónia a láska, všetko ostatné potom stráca na význame.
At the beginning of the tourist trail, the citizens created a heart that symbolizes their love for nature and for each other.\

We were honoured to be able to name one tree from this alley as the Peace Tree on the occasion of these celebrations of the village and during the 2021 route of the Peace Run in Slovakia.
Boli sme poctení, že sme pri príležitosti týchto osláv obce a priebehu štafety Mierového behu mohli pomenovať jeden strom z tejto aleje ako Strom mieru.

Here, too, the people value peace very much in view of their turbulent past and the forced displacement of their citizens. As a permanent reminder of this precious ideal, we also planted a Peace Tree in this village - a red maple. Our captain also helped.
Aj tu si občania veľmi vážia mier vzhľadom na ich pohnutú minulosť a násilné vysídľovanie občanov. Ako trvalú pripomienku tohto vzácneho ideálu sme aj v tejto obci zasadili Strom mieru – červený javor, pomáhal aj náš kapitán.

The village of Horná Ves, led by Mayor Jozef Hrotek, welcomed us in style. Citizens came together in large numbers and we really felt their kindness and love radiating from them.
Obec Horná Ves na čele so starostom Jozefom Hrotekom nás privítala vo veľkom štýle. Občania sa zišli v hojnom počte a my sme naozaj cítili ich dobrotu a lásku, ktorá z nich vyžarovala.
Mr. Jozef Hrotek chose a matching T-shirt with the Peace Torch flame. In this way he also represented the Region Medzihorie.
He is not only a skilful mayor with a huge heart who distributes goodwill all around, but also skilled in manual work. He manually beautified numerous corners of the village and also prepared the space for our Peace Tree.
Pán Jozef Hrotek si vybral tričko, ktoré krásne ladilo s plameňom Mievej pochodne. Aj takto reprezentoval Región Medzihorie.
Je nielen šikovný starosta s obrovským srdcom, ktorý rozdáva dobrú vôľu všade naokolo, ale aj zručný v manuálnych prácach. Vlastnoručne zveľadil obrovské množstvo kútov a kútikov obce a vymuroval aj priestor pre náš Strom mieru.
The story of this place is very interesting. There used to be a 300-year-old linden tree, which was cut after the Second World War. So now we are extremely honoured to be able to plant our new Peace Tree right here.
Príbeh tohto miesta je veľmi zaujímavý. Kedysi tu stála 300 ročná lipa, ktorá bola vyťatá po druhej svetovej vojne. Takže teraz sme nesmierne poctení, že presne na tomto mieste môžeme zasadiť náš nový Strom mieru.
We wish that this freshly planted tree grows stronger in love, harmony and peace from now on. It will definitely remind citizens of our nice meeting.
Želáme čerstvo zasadenému stromu, nech odteraz rastie a silnie v láske, harmónii a mieri. Občanom určite bude pripomínať naše milé stretnutie.

This poetic expression signifies man's deep connection with nature, which gives us strength and without which we could not live.

Toto poetické vyjadrenie vyjadruje hlboké spojenie človeka s prírodou, ktorá nám dáva silu a bez ktorej by sme nemohli žiť.
And another important point on the program was to present the Peace Torch Bearer Award to the Mayor Jozef Hrotek. This award belongs to the exceptional people we meet along the way and who are the direct embodiment of the ideal we are running for.
A ďalší dôležitý bod programu bolo udelenie Ocenenia Nositeľa Mierovej pochodne pánovi starostovi Jozefovi Hrotekovi. Táto cena patrí výnimočným ľuďom, ktorých stretávame po ceste a ktorí sú priamym stelesnením ideálu, za ktorý bežíme.
We found a real soul mate in Jozef Hrotek. He is an example for his surroundings, he offers all his capacity to improve the living conditions of everyone he meets. His accomplishments and merits are numerous, but the most important is his huge heart, which he puts into everything he does. He has a nice word for everyone, he selflessly helps everybody around and one would hardly find a place that the Mayor did not improve with his own hands.
V Jozefovi Hrotekovi sme našli spriaznenú dušu. Je príkladom pre svoje okolie, ponúka všetku svoju kapacitu na zlepšenie životných podmienok každého, koho stretne. Jeho dosiahnutia a záslužné činy sú početné, ale najdôležitejšie je jeho obrovské srdce, ktoré vkladá do všetkého, čo robí. Pre každého má pekné slovo, nezištne pomáha svojmu okoliu a človek by len ťažko hľadal miesto, ktoré pán starosta sám vlastnoručne nejako nevylepšil.
We will be happy to return here to see how the new Peace Tree grows.

In the afternoon we ran to the town of Partizánske, which has a well-developed concept of sport and which prepares young athletes. Even before arriving to the city, we were welcomed by a representative of the Partizánske Athletic Club, who made it extremely easy for us to navigate through local roads, paths and shortcuts.
Poobede sme dobehli do mesta Partizánske, ktoré má dobre rozvinutú koncepciu športu a ktoré vychováva mladých atlétov. Už pred príchodom do mesta nás privítal zástupca Atletického klubu Partizánske, ktorý nám nesmierne uľahčil orientáciu po miestnych cestách, cestičkách a skratkách.

Grown ups or little ones, they all tried to calm down for a while and feel silence and peace inside us.

This concentration exercise for calming down the mind is very important for athletes as well who need to have a clear head during every sport performance.
Toto koncentračné cvičenie na stíšenie mysle je veľmi dôležité aj pre atlétov, ktorí potrebujú mať vyčistenú hlavu počas každého športového výkonu.
To run around the stadium as a symbolic world was a piece of cake for this athletic club was a piece of cake.
The Athletic club has a really rich history and excellent results. In the last 10 years it has trained 19 Slovak champions in various athletic disciplines.
Zabehnúť okolo štadióna ako symbolického sveta bola pre tento atletický klub hračka.
Atletický klub má skutočne bohatú históriu a výborné výsledky. Za posledných 10 rokov vychoval 19 majstrov Slovenska v rôznych atletických disciplínach.

On the way out of the city, we were accompanied by the city police and together with the skillful navigation of Martin Znasik, we easily managed a pleasant run through the city. We admired the great technique of young athletes and wish them good luck in the future.
Po ceste z mesta nás odprevádzala mestská polícia a spolu so šikovnou navigáciou Martina Znášika sme tak poľahky zvládli príjemný beh mestom. Obdivovali sme skvelú techniku mladých atlétov a želáme im veľa zdaru v budúcnosti.
And here we are already in Chynorany.

In Chynorany we were welcomed by the Mayor Bc. Mária Lachkovičová, who appreciated all the positive thoughts and wished us many more happy kilometers. We also thank Mgr. Miriam Bebjaková, the head of the Municipal Office, who came with her children to hold the Peace Torch.
V Chynoranoch nás privítala pani starostka Bc. Mária Lachkovičová, ktorá ocenila všetky pozitívne myšlienky a popriala nám ešte veľa šťastných kilometrov. Ďakujeme aj Mgr. Miriam Bebjakovej, prednostke Obecného úradu, ktorá prišla so svojimi deťmi si podržať Mierovú pochodeň.
And even after this ceremony it was not the end, because we still had to come to the last city of today’s portion - Topoľčany. The city police enthusiastically took pictures with the Peace Torch (unfortunately it was on their mobile phones, so we don't have a photo memory).
A ani po tejto ceremónii to ešte nebol koniec, pretože nás ešte čakalo posledné mesto tejto etapy – Topoľčany. Mestskí policajti sa chceli nadšene fotografovať (len bohužiaľ to bolo na ich mobilné telefóny, takže nám nezostala pamiatka).
And the police skillfully showed us the way through the city, to the square, where the mayor JUDr. Alexandra Gieci was already waiting for us. She was happy that we were bringing a beautiful message and we enjoyed how beautifully she was smiling.
A polícia nám šikovne ukázala cestu mestom, až na námestie, kde nás už čakala pani primátorka JUDr. Alexandra Gieci. Tešila sa, že prinášame krásne posolstvo a my z toho, ako sa krásne usmieva.

The city police continued to assist us, so we could safely go out on the four-lane road and take turns holding the Peace torch.
Mestská polícia nám naďalej asistovala, a tak sme bezpečne mohli vyjsť aj na štvorprúdovú cestu a striedať sa v držaní Mierovej pochodne.
According to the uniform you can notice that Agatka belongs to the Athletic club in Partizánske but since she lives in Topoľčany, she ran a portion of our mileage in this town.
Podľa trička môžete spoznať že Agátka patrí do Atletického klubu v Partizánskom, ale keďže býva v Topoľčanoch, zabehla si s nami kúsok trate v tomto meste.
This was our (so far) warmest day of our run and we very much welcomed a refreshing break at the ZOO on the Ranch pod Babicou during our today’s accommodation.
Toto bol náš (zatiaľ) najteplejší deň etapy a my sme veľmi uvítali osviežujúcu prestávku v ZOO na Ranči pod Babicou pri našom dnešnom ubytovaní.
