The 47th Annual Cape Verdean Independence Day Festival returns to India Point Park in Providence, Rhode Island.
Since 1976, the Rhode Island Cape Verdean Independence Day Festival is the oldest celebration of the Cape Verdean community in the United States. It serves to preserve the Cape Verdean culture and heritage.
We were honored that the Peace Run was invited to participate in this year's Independence Day Festival.
It's a day-long experience featuring traditional music, food, arts and crafts. There were various vendors, sponsors, and non profit groups. Many local government officials held the Torch.
We provided materials for children to make peace drawings.
