Our international Peace Run team goes over the plans early in the morning for another busy day on the Peace Run in Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital city.

Our first destination was Bangabandhu National Stadium, built in 1954. It is the National and largest sports stadium of Bangladesh. Cricket and football(soccer) are very big sports here and attract huge crowds.

Before leaving we presented Rokib(affectionately known as Rocky), with our Certificate of Appreciation for all the work he has done in arranging our visit here. He also had participated in our opening ceremony the day before this, at the Eternal Flame, and he ran with us for a while with the Peace Torch. We are so grateful to him for his kindness and enthusiasm and also for the kindness and hospitality of his colleagues who all welcomed us here today.

Our next stop was at the The National Martyrs' Memorial. it is the National Monument of Bangladesh, set up in the memory of those who died in the Bangladesh War of Independence of 1971, which brought independence and separated Bangladesh from Pakistan. The monument is located in Savar, about 35 km north-west of the capital, Dhaka.

Our next destination for the day was Jahangirnagar University. It is a fully residential public university established in 1970 has now 36 departments and fifteen thousand students. The sprawling , scenic campus is located 30 kilometres from central Dhaka. After introducing ourselves and singing our Peace Run song some of the students joined us for a large group photo before our Peace Run through the campus.

We had an enthusiastic group of runners for this scenic run through the campus, which included a very nice lake.

After lunch we spent some time at an open air 'cafe' singing songs with some local students who brought a guitar along and entertained us as well.

Later that evening we were invited to dinner at a wonderful Indian style restaurant called 'Santoor'. Here we are seen sharing the Peace Torch with our kind friends who generously treated us to a delicious dinner.

Our very kind and generous hosts were Dil Afruz Begum, on left, holding the Peace Torch with her husband, Mahboob Zaman. She is a famous activist and was a leader during the war of Independence in 1971 . Her husband is also a former freedom fighter and a famous IT Entrepreneur in Bangladesh. She is also the sister of our very good friend in New York, Khourshedul. We are also grateful to him for connecting us to his sister and her husband here in Dhaka. The Bengali heart really shone brightly today as we met so many wonderful new friends here in Dhaka.
