Gold Coast - Byron Bay

Reported by Salil Wilson 100.0 km

We began bright and early with a group run with the enthusiastic Tweed Heads Runners!!!

Next our womens team hit the road.

Maribel led us into St Ambrose School in Pottsville.

Eager with anticipation for our first school of the day.

They had very nicely arranged for the students to watch our Peace Run video.

Lucas and Arabella accepted a painting by Peace Run founder Sri Chinmoy.

Leaving St. Ambrose the students formed a guard of honour.

Thank you for your enthusiastic welcome.

Go Team Latin America!!!

Our next stop was the Cape Byron Rudolf Steiner School.

Sadly this was Amalendu's and Balarka's final day with us. Thank you for all your help.

The entire school performed a beautiful song for us entitled "The Great Unknown"

Gabriel negotiating with Liana about how many hot dogs he's getting.

Lunch made by our womens team.

Salil trying to figure out what time it is.

Again Gesiane topped our team distance with a solid 19 km. She's in training for a 48 hour race in two weeks.

Our final stop was Byron Community Primary School.

High fives all around for Fatima!

Acting out the womens' 100 m world championships. We do it in slow motion so people can see what's going on.

Helping Gesiane who is dramatically showing she has sustained an injury.

Thumbs up from the audience.

Anyone have any questions?

The music teacher made an appearance and led the students in a wonderful original school song.

Some of the scenes which make Byron Bay world famous.

Special thanks to all the kind and generous help we received with accommodation tonight.

YHA Byron Bay, very much appreciated.

Thank you YHA Cape Byron.

Reflections Holiday Parks - Byron Bay Holiday Park - thank you for hosting the mens' team.

A great and fulfilling day.
