Stamford, CT - Gaylordsville, CT

After an evening with our brother, sister and long time supporters Nripal and Nidrahara (center) it was difficult to get on the road. Theirs is the kind of home where you want to linger in the family-feeling.

In their idyllic back garden there is a statue of the founder of the Peace Run, Sri Chinmoy.

But it was finally time to get on the road. Here, Nayaja finds a nice shady path to knock out some of her miles.

As always, Suhashini is all smiles.

Our first stop today was the Sports Dome Summer Camp. In north Connecticut's largest sports dome, 250 kids spend their days playing various sports under the guidance of a set of outstanding coaches and counselors.

They prepared a few acts on the theme of peace that included some dynamic chanting and dance. They really got the spirit!

Danbury Mayor Dean Esposito was in attendance. He kindly accepted our Peace Run Torch Bearer Award on behalf of the Sport Dome's General Manager Ken Piala for all he has done for the community and kids of the area.

The kids were sure to thank the mayor for taking his time to come and visit!

And then it was time for the real heart of the Peace Run - experiencing a moment of peace.

And also getting a chance to hold the torch and experience what so many thousands of people around the world have experienced, a first-hand encounter with the powerful symbol of humanity's aspiration for a more peaceful and beautiful world.

Our team sends a big Thank you to all the kids and staff at the Sports Dome Summer Camp for such an enthusiastic reception.
