Burlington, VT - Lacolle, QC

Our very special thanks to the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain for offering the team complimentary rooms last night! Generosity like theirs makes efforts like ours not only possible but pleasant.

The city library in South Hero, VT welcomed us for children's story time.

On our way to visit their neighbors to the north, we picked up a new friend. Nick was leaving his driveway prepped to run, so I said, "great day for a run, huh?" to which he replied, "Great day for a run!" I handed him the torch and run he did.

The library in North Hero got in on the action as well, but this time they invited the entire town. There were about 20 people who gathered, and they were eager to pass the torch and make a wish or prayer for peace. Many of them echoed the Peace Run's own motto: Peace Begins With Me.

And wouldn't you know it, the brother of one of our good friends way down in New Zealand was in town and came out to say hi!

The good and great people pf North Hero will be immortal in our minds for the incredible brownies they brought.

Captain Harita logging her miles.

It's always nice to meet people along the way.

The furry friend seems to be a theme.

Finally setting up camp after a long and wet day.

Our Italian runner Nayaja is celebrating her birthday today! Cake AND pie. . . how did she rate that?

On our way down the causeway to Hero Island and the bike ferry crossing.

When we reached the bike ferry dock, up went the flag to call the ferry... but no ferry arrived. We were stranded between the causeway from Burlington, VT and Hero Island

Until our new friend Gary came to save the day. He ferried us across to Hero Island so we could continue on our run.

Thanks Gary! We couldn't have done it without you! With the help of our friends, Peace Run always finds a way.
