Today we celebrate the International Day of Peace. By tradition, we are celebrating it together with the United Nations Association of Bulgaria. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, UNHCR Bulgaria, the Union of War Veterans and students from the capital's 106th elementary school "Grigoriy Tsamblak".
Днес честваме Международния ден на мира. По традиция го отбелязахме заедно с Дружество за ООН в България / United Nations Association of Bulgaria . На събитието присъстваха и представители на Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria , UNHCR Bulgaria , Съюза на ветераните от войните и ученици от столичното 106 ОУ "Григорий Цамблак".
Traditionally, the United Nations Association of Bulgaria celebrated the International Day of Peace with a ceremony in front of the Monument of the Unknown Soldier. The event is part of the Cultural Calendar of Sofia Municipality.
По традиция Дружеството за ООН в България отбеляза Международния ден на мира с церемония пред Паметника на незнайния воин, част от Културния календар на Столична Община.
The celebration began with a minute's silence in memory of all those who lost their lives in military conflicts and acts of terrorism.
Отбелязването започна с едноминутно мълчание в памет на всички, дали живота си във военни конфликти и терористични актове.
The Chairman of the Association, Ambassador Vladimir Sotirov, emphasized the importance of collective global efforts to face the challenges. He highlighted the importance of trust and dialogue to achieve sustainable cooperation.
Председателят на Дружеството посланик Владимир Сотиров подчерта значението на съвместните глобални усилия за противопоставяне на предизвикателствата. Той акцентира върху важността на доверието и диалога за постигане на устойчиво сътрудничество.
The Bulgarian youth delegates read the speech of UN Secretary General António Guterres and delivered their message for peace.
Българските младежки делегати прочетоха речта на генералния секретар на ООН Антониу Гутериш и отправиха свое послание за мир.
The vice-president of the Union of War Veterans, Maria Stoyanova, called for unity in the fight for peace and wished humanity to live in love and joy.
Заместник-председателят на Съюза на ветераните от войните Мария Стоянова призова да бъдем единни в борбата за мир и си пожела човечеството да живее в любов и радост.

The event ended with offering of flowers at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier. The good mood of the attendees was ensured by the children from the "Beli Brezi" vocal group, who showed their singing talent.
Събитието приключи с поднасяне на цветя на Паметника на незнайния воин, а за доброто настроение на присъстващите се погрижиха децата от вокална група "Бели брези", които показаха своя певчески талант.
