The day start by visiting all 4 schools in the Istituto Comprensivo di Pianiga. The kids at the schools worked since months on a project called ISPIRA PACE (Inspire peace). https://www.icpianiga.edu.it/https-www-icpianiga-edu-it-ispira-pace/
First we visited the primary school "Edmondo De Amicis". Kids lined up for high fives...
and offered a wish for peace.
They shared with us their poems, their readings and ideas about a world and a city of Peace.
The kids did an excellent job and a lot of drawings.
Then we visited the Rivale kindergarten where the reception was very enthusiastic!
We arrived at the Giovanni XXIII school.
The council member Chiara Cazzagon was very kind. She was with us the whole time.
The mayor, Massimo Calzavara, welcomed us in the shool.

The principal Giovanni Labita eagerly pass the torch to each and every student in the school. The vice principals of the school Moreno Menegazzo and Emma Eger collaborated with a lot of concern to the various activities of the students.
We were then expected at the Gianni Rodari school.
The kids lead us through a nice series of activities.
They prepared outstanding artworks about peace.
It was a very joyful presentation with the children of the Rodari Primary and Secondary School and the students of the High School Galilei
It was time to say good bye to our Pianiga friends and to run towards Oderzo with the promise to share their hopes for peace with the next schools waiting on the road.
We then ran towards Oderzo to meet the local running club. We were greeted by some runners and the president of the ASD Colfranculana from Oderzo and the president of Nuova Atletica 3 Comuni.
Oderzo Mayor Maria Scardellato and all the council members welcomed us and we engaged in a lively discussion about peace in everyday life.
They run with us despite the rain and the cold! Thank you!
