Reported by Harashita Sunaoshi

In the morning, Mr. Bikram Pandey Kaaji (featured) and his friend Mr. Sharad Pradhan join the Team for breakfast. Bikram Sir is Concept man of Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon, which our international female team participated last year, and Mother Mayadevi Marathon. He is also Goodwill Ambassador of Lumbini Trust.

We then head to Lumbini Gyan Prabha Basic School.

School Principal Mr. Moti Lal warmly welcomes each one of us.

As soon as we walk in, we feel simplicity and tranquility of the school.

Some welcome performances follow...

Monk-teachers kindly look on...

We humbly presents the Torch Bearer Award to revered monk Ven. Bikshuu Maitri Mahasthavir, for being a beacon of hope and progress to the Buddhist society. He has dedicated his life for the betterment of Lumbini's healthcare, communication and other critical matters.

Ven. Bhikshuni Khamesi, Founder Chairperson of Lumbini Gyan Prabha Basic School, with Vivian from Guatemala.

Maribel from Guatemala gives high-five to one of the students.

Sweet teachers of the school

We had a short run outside the school premise, out on a village path.

We had a little time to explore the school with the children as well!

A Peace Tree was then planted.

We are grateful for the kind assistance of our hotel Little Buddha.

Afterwards, we had the opportunity to visit a number of temples constructed by different countries. This is Korea temple.

Nepal temple.

It is fascinating to see the wide variety of images, statues, and architecture styles used for a Buddhist temple by different countries.

To conclude the day, we paid a respectful visit to the statue of former Secretary General of the UN, U Thant. His initiatives to develop Lumbini in the way it deserves is forever appreciated and admired by not only the people of Lumbini, Buddhists worldwide, but also all the peace lovers of the world.
