Orbost - Bairnsdale

Reported by Devashishu Torpy, Stacey Marsh 92.0 km

Our day begins at Orbost Primary School. Councillor Mark Reeves from the East Gipsland Shire Council is there to meet us and speak to the students. He is also a member of the Country Fire Authority.

Everyone gets a chance to hold the torch.

Carrying the torch around the school grounds.

Five kilometres down the road we visit Newmerella Primary School where we are invited to make our presentation in their Monday morning assembly.

Ashley and Peter receive a Certificate and a painting from the Peace runners.

Ashley prepares to lead all the students in a lap of the school grounds.

Vananiya from Mongolia leads us on along the Princes Highway.

We all gather outside Lakes Entrance Primary School for our next appointment.

The children are all gathered in a covered area outdoors.

Can they guess where Robert is from?

The children volunteer possible actions that we can use as we sing the World Harmony Run song.

This is a listed part of the school building. Peace runners visited here 6 years previously.

The team all make their way to the beach to have some lunch.

Jelly fish can be seen in the inland lake.

Akrura the great from Brazil leads us on as the temperatures rise to 30 degrees.

The boys team celebrate Goncalo's birthday by finding the local ice cream shop. Akrura treats everyone to some delicious healthy gelato made on the premises.

Thank you to Matt at Bairnsdale Main Motel for offering us rooms for the night. His children come out to greet the torch and take it for a spin.
