Our morning began at beautiful Golden Gate Park.

We gathered at the exact spot the Peace Run Founder, Sri Chinmoy, was first inspired to begin his and our remarkable journey in the running world.

It was from this exact bench that Sri Chinmoy took those first steps and said, "Today our running journey begins..." Out of that simple statement the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team was born which has put on countless races around the world.

We retraced Sri Chinmoy's initial steps, where he led his students on a short distance of about 400 meters.

Our Peace Run team sat on that immortal bench in Golden Gate Park.

Our San Francisco hosts with their much deserved certificates of appreciation. Thank you all so much for an enriching, rewarding and fulfilling visit.

Then it was time to run across the Golden Gate Bridge.

It was pretty cold and foggy to begin with on the south side of the bridge.

The sun was working hard to break through.

Soon the majestic bridge came into view.

Salil was reminiscing about his first time seeing the Golden Gate Bridge in 1980.

San Francisco skyline with the bridge.

Our team about to head into Nor Cal (Northern California).

Papaha, from San Diego, gets ready to take his first steps as a new team member on the Peace Run.

California's gorgeous coastline was an ever-present companion.

Gabrielle Settimi from Italy soaked in the scenary.

Running with a flower rather than a flame is a must in California's dry countryside.

This couple were delighted to meet the team and deeply felt it was destiny that brought us together.

We arrived at our campground to be presented with an exquisite river as our next door neighbor.

We stayed in amongst the Redwoods, basking in their powerful prana.

Our evening campsite after a delicious meal.

A great campfire to finish the day.
