まほろばアスリートクラブへのピースプレゼンテーション
This is our first Peace Run in Yamagata. It has been canceled twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic and bad weather.
山形でのピースランは初。コロナ禍や天候不良などで２回中止になりました。
Medals were presented to the leader of the Mahoroba Athletic Club and others.
まほろばアスリートクラブの団長さん他にメダルを進呈します
The word "Mahoroba" in the name "Mahoroba Athletic Club" means "a wonderful place" or "a comfortable place to live." It is an old Japanese word that appears in the Kojiki and Manyoshu.
『まほろばアスリートクラブ』のまほろばとは「素晴らしい場所」「住みやすい場所」という意味。古事記や万葉集などにも登場する日本の古語。
We carried the torch to the Takahata Junior High School.
高畠中学校までトーチを手渡しながら走ります

The torch on the right was used in the torch relay for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

We got a free tour of the quarry from its guide. He is an enthusiastic volunteer.

It has great acoustics, and is often used for concerts.
響きが良いのでコンサート等に使用されることもあります。
We told Mr. Sasaki of Patrol Run that there were runners coming from overseas, and he kindly made small flags for each nationality!
海外のランナーでブラジル等から来る、とパトランの佐々木さんにあらかじめ伝えていた所。わざわざ小さな旗を作ってくださいました。
We received various presents from the Patrol Running members as we were leaving.
パトランのメンバーから帰り際に色々プレゼントいただきました。
Even after we got in the car and said goodbye, they kept waving goodbye. The overseas runners were very touched.
車に乗ってさよならする際にもずっと手を振ってお見送りしてくださいました。海外のランナーが感動してました
The very kind gentleman living next door to our accommodation came over for an impromptu visit and gifted us a lot of the vegetables that he had grown himself. We cooked them into a delicious meal afterwards.
