Hamburg

A busy school-day in hamburg was about to begin...

Welcome to primary school "Hasselbrook"!

As Hamburg is a very international city, most schools have many children with a foreign background...

...the very colorful crowd is usually very good in guessing our runner's nationalities. A bad start for our country guessing game, but we cheerfully accept defeat...

...a Run around the school...

..the easy way...

Thank you Hasselbrook for the fun!

...a family Run...

Hamburg is called the "Venice of the North". All of it's canals put together are longer than those of Venice...

Primary school "Osterbrook" was next!

..a nice "one way system" into the school...

...the kids didn't mind the few raindrops...

...a musical perfomance...

Thank you Osterbrook for the enthusiasm!

...we passed the harbor of St. Pauli...

...and the tunnel under the river Elbe...

...the kids of the primary school "Stengelestrasse" gave us a happy welcome!

...the meeting turned almost into a party...

...a symbolic Run around the school yard ended the event.

Thank you Stengelestrasse for the nice meeting!

...we arrived at the "Gurdwara Singh Saba" - the Sikhs temple in Hamburg...

..properly dressed we introduced the Peace Run and our ideals...

...we passed the torch to the community...

..the flaming torch was carried around the shrine...

...in good Sikhs tradition we were treated for a delicious Indian meal!

....and Chai - tea...

...in a very informative meeting we were told many interresting things about the Sikhs tradition...

...we received also a nice gift: a picture of the Golden Temple in Amritsar...

Thank you for the heartfelt meeting. We really enjoyed your hospitality!
