We started our morning with a peaceful sunrise at Hawthorne Bluff overlooking Oolagah Lake.
The men's team ran in the morning towards Tulsa, Oklahoma.
We always meet some very enthusiastic people along our route who stop for us and share the torch.

We were welcomed by some of the staff there and fed by them as well. Mike Murphy, Program Director, (second from right) kindly arranged for our visit there as he has done for many years in the past.

We all introduced ourselves with a guessing game. The boys were able to guess everyone's country or city.

Our next run was with Mayor Mike Burdge of Sand Springs, O.K. He is also the track and cross-country coach at the high school.
Three of his freshman high school students who run track and cross-country also carried the torch with us. We had to slow them down a bit so we could keep up.
We had a two car police escort the whole three miles to City Hall.
We are very grateful to Mayor Burdge and his team, Melina, Nia and Cheyenne for running with us and offering their goodwill, inspiration, energy and kindness.
The women's team was on the road for the afternoon shift.
Our next stop in the afternoon was an exciting after-school program at the Key Elementary School in Tulsa.
Jacquie Kalley was so kind in arranging for our visit.
We were welcomed with beautiful signs made by the children.
The children were very excited about our arrival.
We offered our presentation by introducing ourselves with a guessing game as usual.

We are very grateful to Jacquie Kalley and the teachers and children for such a wonderful program and warm welcome.
