Our day of running begins in Zaragoza along the banks of the river.
The temperature is very warm, reaching over 30 Centigrade later in the day.
One way to take the weight off your feet.
Our first appointment was at Tenerias School.
The children have to guess which country each runner comes from. Our Portuguese runner gives them a clue; "The best footballer in the world comes from my country". Is he from Argentina many would ask.

A couple who originally come from Nigeria hold the torch and offer their support for the worldwide Peace Run.
Our second appointment in Zaragoza is at Colegia La Purisima y San Antonio.
Viva Espanha. Viva La Paz.
These wonderful teachers held the torch and wished us all the best for the journey ahead.
We crossed over the river back into the heart of Zaragoza.
This large cathedral has a powerful presence in the centre of the city.
We ran around the world at least 3 times!
One runner carries the Torch, another the Spanish flag and another the map.
Our third and final appointment in Zaragoza is at the Gascon y Marin School.

Our next appointment is in the town of Huesca, at Colegio Santa Ana.
The children here had a comprehensive knowledge of languages and cultures.
The red shirts are their sports uniform. Students participate in a wide range of sports from Handball to Rhythmic Gymnasics.

Our final meeting of the day is with an Athletics Club in Huesca.
One young athlete leads us to the track.
Children of various ages belong to the club and practise everything from sprinting to Long Jump.
The girl in the yellow T-shirt is their star runner.
A relay race was organised. Each team of 8 runners had to cover the 400 metres (50 metres each runner). The Peace Run Team didn't win, but were out-sprinted by most of the younger runners.
In each relay one team had the honour of running with the Torch.

After inviting us to do another relay race, we all ran a lap of the track together.
