Geneve

Reported by Devashishu Torpy 7.0 km

The city of Geneva welcomes the Peace Run.

The children await the appearance of the runners.

These primary schoolchildren at the British School in Geneva represent a wide variety of nationalities.

A moment of silence to feel the heart of friendship, oneness and peace.

Fullness - to embrace the entire world.

Poems on Peace.

Our Irish runner makes some new friends.

Twins ....

The teachers at the British School hold the torch together.

Madeleine will be the first to lead us on a run around the playground.

The teachers lead everyone in another lap.

A really wonderful school - thank you for your hospitality.

A picnic at rather cooler temperatures. This view of Geneva is from hills in France.

Back in Geneva we take a run around the Sri Chinmoy Peace Mile, which was inaugurated in June 1986.

These Peace Miles exist in many cities worldwide, and offer runners and walkers a measured mile loop.

In the late afternoon we pay a visit to a retirement home called La Vendee.

We make our presentation in English and in French.

Each person holds the torch and says a prayer for peace.

We value the flame that burns inside every heart, and salute the dedication and enthusiasm of those who have helped to make this world a better place.

Even the cat in residence joins in.

One lady even ran a few paces with the torch. She used to be an avid hiker. The gentleman accompanying her is from Venezuela: he is the Director of the home. We thank him for his kindness and his commitment to caring for others.
