Our team started in the morning in Riga...
...we reached the "Pansionats Liepa", a place for retired people...
After reading the support letter from the President of Latvia we handed the torch to the people...

At the border of the City of Jurmala we were greeted by the first of many Jurmala sport clubs that joined us in a big relay all the way to the other border of the community!

It seemed that the entire city council were waiting for us...
The representative of the city of Jurmala received the torch on behalf of the people.
Everyone took the opportunity to hold the torch...
One of our special guests at the ceremony was Marija Naumova - winner of the Eurovision song contest in 2002.
Besides being an outstanding singer and an inspiration for many people she has supported the community in various ways - a truly humble and sincere human being.

We were led through the City and right on the beach by two really nice policeman - thank you!
10 km along the beach!
Some people had been running with us in Jurmala six years ago - a happy reunion!
All the way throughout the city we were joined by kids from local sport clubs.
Some kids on the beach were really surprised to see the torch - even more surprised when we presented them the torch and told about the run!
...back on the road more kids joined in...
The next group joined us in the district of Engure....
...a short meeting in the castle of Slokenbeka...
Also the hockey team from Tukums joined in.

..in zero time the kids finished the refreshments...

When the hockey team got the torch it was almost impossible to stop them. They ran the full 5 km in top-speed!
Some kids used a different kind of transportation.
