For the first time ever we had the opportunity to take the Peace Run outside of Dili. Liquica and Maubara were the two villages we visited, they are about 30 km and 35 km west of Dili respectively.
Our first visit was to Escola Bazica e Secundario Catolica Sao Inaciao de Loyola Kasait. This is a Catholic school and is the largest school in Timor-Leste.
Ozorio has been our tireless, self-giving and enthusiastic translator throughout our visit.

To witness the wide open grins of Timorese young people is a truly valuable experience.

Much to the delight of the assembly the principal did a lap with the two class presidents.
Next we were off to Escola Secundario Geral de Liquica.
Here we were presented with the most beautiful and haunting singing.

Our third school for the day was Escola Catolica Sao Joao Brito Liquica.
Again the singing here was unparalleled.
Zuzka introduces her country, Czech Republic, by reciting a famous tongue twister. As you can see it always elicits quite a response from the audience.
One more song to send us on our way.
These two girls were not only wonderful singers but also twins.

Our final visit was to Escola Secundária Filial Maubara.
The students were so happy to see the school director run a lap with the torch.
We finished the day at the Maubara Fort.
