Before leaving in the morning we met Patrick Varner who was born deaf. He tought us how to say "Peace Run" in sign language, held the Torch and wished us a safe journey.
Today our team had a beautiful day of running with lots of sunshine and a cooling breeze.
Very soon the runners crossed the State Line into Oklahoma.

In the afternoon the Peace Run team arrived in Stigler were it was welcomed at the Chamber of Commerce by Janice Williams, the Secretary.
The Torch was passed around on the front lawn and the runners sang the Peace Run song composed by the Founder of the Peace Run, Sri Chinmoy.
Janice very kindly showed us around the town useum showing the interesting history of Stigler. Everyone received a free T-Shirt, too.
For the second leg of the day, the women’s team ran during the hot afternoon to Longtown, the final stop for the day.
