The sun is shining once again.
We arrive at Coventry Cathedral.
Coventry is a city that was heavily bombed in the Second World War.
The Cathedral was almost completely destroyed - the remains have been kept standing as a reminder of the devastation of war and as a symbol of Peace.

We are greeted at the new Cathedral where the RISING Global Peace Forum is taking place. This is being attended by 200 delegates. Two Nobel Peace Prize Winners and two former heads of State opened the RISING Global Peace Forum this year.

RISING was launched in 2015 as a partnership between Coventry University, Coventry Cathedral and Coventry City Council - with founding inspiration and sponsorship from Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

This annual gathering brings international peacebuilders, policymakers and academics from around the World to Coventry. It is a two day forum sharing insights and exploring new ways of resolving conflict and of building sustainable peace.

This statue of Queen Victoria outside the Town Hall narrowly missed being flattened by a bomb in the Second World War. The whole foundation shook and now the statue is leaning slightly to one side. Queen Victoria was not amused.

There are only 3 towns in England that have been given the title 'Royal'. Royal Tunbridge Wells, Royal Wootton Bassett and Royal Leamington Spa.
This is a memorial to three Czech heroes, who participated in Operation Anthropoid in 1942. They were trained in Royal Leamington Spa and air dropped into Czechoslovakia, where they assassinated the German governor, Reinhard Heydrich. They all lost their lives in service to their country.
