An amazing Peace Run story! This wonderful lady, Carol, saw us shopping yesterday evening in the supermarket in Bombala. Outside in the street she approached us and asked what we are doing. We explained everything. She asked where we were planning to stay. When we told her, she mentioned that she has a big house with 5 spare bedrooms - and invited the girls team to stay there and cook the evening meal there. Such generosity!
Nirjharini is the chief cook for yesterday's evening meal - here she is in Carol's kitchen.
It is an amazing house - a farm ranch up in the hills outside Bombala. Carol is sitting with her husband Murray. They love horses and have lived in different places around the world including Vanuatu and India.
The landscape around their property is breathtaking. They designed their house with large windows so that they can enjoy the incredible sunsets.

After a grand feast, for which Carol supplied fresh berries and ice cream, we showed them the Peace Run film. Carol's sister, Chris, is standing second from left. Her husband was a British diplomat, and she entertained us with stories from around the world.
This morning we bid farewell to our hosts Murray and Carol and their beautiful home. We have known them for less than 15 hours and they feel like family. It was really difficult to say goodbye.
The drive in to their homestead off the main road was so stunning that we couldn't miss the opportunity to run back out. So we added 12km to our day of running and with a happy heart took our first steps on this silent Sunday.
By noon we have only about 25km to go and who pulls up but Murray, Carol and Chris! After Church they went home to pack a picnic lunch and hit the road to catch us up and cheer us on into Cann River.
The Church service they had attended this morning was all on the theme of Peace. An auspicious sign for all of us.
They bid us farewell and we ran the final kilometres to Cann River.

At our finish point in Cann River, the girls enjoyed a nice cuppa with Carol, Chris and Murray.
Orbost is our final destination today and just a short 20km from the coast. We made our way to East Cape Beach just to say hello to the ocean. The waves were rough with a strong wind and we grabbed the torch and went for a joyful run down the beach. We met some locals who were inspired to hold the torch and go for a little run with us.
A beautiful road lined with trees leads us out of Cann River.
The Prince's Highway towards Melbourne is a busy road.
There is a lot of road construction along the way. Fortunately a water spraying truck passed by just before we reached the dusty part. Everyone along the route is very supportive.
