...and we started with a visit of old friends of the Peace Run.
We reached the Slovenian National Theatre of Maribor.
Snežana played for us on the flute....
Mr. Rudolf Moge (former MP and a personal friend of Sri Chinmoy, the founder of the Peace Run), Mr. Simon Mihalina, representative of the city of Maribor and Mr. Alan Kavčič, representative of the National Theatre gave us a warm welcome.
The National Theatre is a member of the world-wide family of Sri Chinmoy Peace Blossoms (a group of countries, cities and landmarks), dedicated to Peace and Harmony.
Thank you for the heartfelt welcome!
It was time for us to run. A warm morning rain couldn't dampen our spirits.
Slovenia is one small beautiful garden...
...we reached Sentilj. Another old friend of the Peace Run, Mayor Edvard Čagran, welcomed us.
The mayor took the torch and joined the Run!
...up and down the hills...
In Zgornje Konjice a group of runners awaited us.
The restaurant "Gostilna Vrtnica" (which means "Rose") hosted us with a great lunch! Thank you so much for supporting the Peace Run!
The day turned into a perfect sunny running-day...
...we met nice people along the road...
As we appproached Apače, more runners joined in.
...and more...
We arrived at the city hall in Apače. The mayor spoke kind words and received the torch.
Despite it was Easter weekend, a big group of citizens attended the meeting. Thank you for the nice event!
A big hand to Apače!
It was now time for us to enjoy the great lunch provided by the "Gostilna Vrtnica"!
A nice afternoon run with a full stomache!
More runners joined and we reached Gornja Radgona.
The deputy mayor of Gornja Radgona welcomed us in the heart of the City: a lovely park.
...a few symbolic steps for Peace...
Thank you Gornja Radgona!
...local runners carried the torch all way to Radenci...
...and we ended our day in Murska Sobota. What a nice day - enjoying Slovenia's hospitality to the fullest!
...palačinke - pancakes...
We were invited to spend the night in the "Penzion Letališče" near Murska Sobota, run by familly Bagari.
Thank you so much for your support!
