Good morning Slovenia! We spent a good night's rest in Dekani...
...aproaching our first school: the primary school "Elvire Vatovec Prade"...
...a group of kids awaited us at the school entrance...
...and carried the torch into the assembly...
....500 kids gave us a great welcome!
...with many nice performances...
...alll the children and teachers formed a human chain around the school - "hugging their school", as they called it!
...then we passed the torch around...
..meanwhile the school band kept performing for the audience...

...next stop: city hall Koper.
...the mayor received us with kind words...

Back on the road we met a group of tourists...
...now it was time to expereince the beautiful country side of Slovenia...
...a final climb up to Šmarje...
...with a short break for refreshments...
...the children of the primary school in Šmarje awaited us in the shade. No surprise, as the temperature climbed already far above 30ºC...
Goga made her move against all the blonde-jokes....
...despite the heat the kids stormed across the sport field...

On Saturday we enjoyed a weekend-run with some local athletes...
...the route: Koper - Izola - Koper. A perfect chill-out run followed by a refreshing swim....
...always along the sea...
...and a short tour through Izola...
...the spectators cheered...
...back in Koper...
