Erzin - Ceyhan

Reported by Ondřej Mocný 49.0 km

Before we set out on our journey we have presented sister Barbara Kallash the Torch Bearer Award. We strongly believe that Barbara's projects are very important for the whole region and hope she will continue with the same energy in oncoming years!

We are very grateful for a special peace dowe made from local stone to accompany us. Locals believe this stone brings protection.

We have started running at Erzin visiting the local school.

The school representatives have kindly received our torch.

We had a fun time!

And so did the crowds of local children.

Thank you Ali Rıza Büyüker Ortaokulu!

And also Hürriyet Ortaokulu.

An hour and half later, we set out towards Ceyhan.

While running through a nice small village of Lalegölü we met with Ali and Merve, brother and sister. Merve managed to get all kids together within only a few minutes!

Soon enough the whole village was with us.

Pranava is doing "the viking".

The children song us a song. As we learned later, it was the Turkish anthem!

Sharing a moment of peace.

Zeynep is expressing her wish for the world.

Thanks for such a warm and unexpected welcome, Lalegölü!

With a steady pace we finished the last kilometers and arrived to Ceyhan.
